Special Call for Women Artists 2026/2027
NNC Gallery London launches a new international special call dedicated to women artists working in all contemporary disciplines.
We are preparing our first curated book entirely devoted to women artists, to be produced in 2027 together with a dedicated virtual exhibition. There is no imposed theme: we want to discover the projects women artists are developing now, across photography, painting, sculpture, performance, video, digital art, AI-assisted practices, installation, textile art, mixed media and other contemporary languages.
Artists are invited to submit one coherent project composed of 10 images from the same series, together with a PDF including biography, artist statement and project presentation.
The selected artists will be part of a serious editorial and curatorial project by NNC Gallery London, active since 2016 in the field of emerging and mid-career contemporary art.
Applications are open internationally.
For information: call4artists@nonamecollectivegallery.co.uk
Through this selection, and at the discretion of the curators, selected artists may also be invited to take part in the NNC Gallery Annual Challenge, which offers the possibility of entering the gallery’s long-term curatorial programme.
A Curated Book and Virtual Exhibition Dedicated to Women Artists
NNC Gallery London is pleased to announce a new special call dedicated to women artists working in all disciplines.
For the first time, we are preparing a curated book entirely devoted to the work, vision, research and creative strength of women artists today.
There is no imposed theme.
We do not want to restrict the projects within a predefined subject. We want to discover what women artists are creating now, what they are questioning, what they are transforming, and how they are shaping the language of contemporary art through their own practice.
This special call is open to women artists working with photography, painting, sculpture, performance, video art, digital art, AI-assisted art, installation, textile art, mixed media, drawing, ceramics, conceptual practices, and any other contemporary artistic language.
We are looking for coherent projects, not isolated works.
Each artist must submit a project presented through 10 images from the same series or body of work. The images must belong to one consistent project, not to different unrelated series.
The selected artists will become part of a curated editorial and exhibition project developed by NNC Gallery London, an independent international gallery project active since 2016 in the field of emerging and mid-career contemporary art.
Why This Call
Women artists have always produced images, ideas, forms, ruptures, archives, gestures, bodies of knowledge and new ways of seeing. Yet the history of art has too often recognised them late, partially, or only when their work could be framed through categories already built by others.
This project starts from a simple and necessary question:
What are women artists creating now?
Not as a marginal chapter.
Not as a special exception.
Not as a decorative presence inside a broader narrative.
But as authors, researchers, image-makers, thinkers, witnesses and builders of contemporary visual culture.
Today, women artists are working across disciplines with extraordinary intensity. They explore identity, matter, body, landscape, memory, technology, intimacy, social conflict, spirituality, ecology, domestic space, political space, artificial intelligence, violence, care, desire, transformation and survival.
They do not need to be confined to one theme.
For this reason, this call does not ask artists to respond to a single subject. Instead, it invites them to present the project they consider most urgent, most alive, most representative of their current research.
We want to create a book that becomes a visual and critical map of women’s artistic practice today.
A book that does not flatten difference, but protects it.
A book that does not reduce women artists to a slogan, but gives space to their languages.
A book that can be read, collected, shared, preserved and used as a professional tool.
The Project
The selected projects will be included in a curated book dedicated to women artists.
The book will be produced in 2027 and will be connected to a dedicated online virtual exhibition, where one work by each selected artist will be presented and linked to the online project.
The project will include:
a curated printed book
an online version of the book
a virtual exhibition connected to the selected artists
one artwork by each selected artist presented in the virtual exhibition
visibility through the editorial and curatorial platform of NNC Gallery London
The printed book will be available in physical format, while the online version will allow broader international access to the selected projects.
This is conceived as a serious editorial and curatorial project, created to give visibility, documentation and long-term value to women artists working today.

Why Apply
This call offers women artists the opportunity to enter a serious curated project developed by NNC Gallery London, an international gallery and editorial platform active since 2016 in the promotion, observation and presentation of emerging and mid-career artists.
The selected artists will not simply appear in a generic online list. They will become part of a structured editorial and curatorial project designed to document their work with clarity, dignity and professional attention.
For artists, a curated book can become an important tool for:
presenting their work to curators, galleries and collectors
strengthening their professional portfolio
documenting a coherent body of work
increasing international visibility
entering a long-term curatorial context
connecting their practice to a wider conversation about women in contemporary art
At NNC Gallery London, we believe that visibility must be built through selection, context, coherence and continuity.
This project is not about filling pages.
It is about creating a meaningful archive of women’s artistic research today.
A Book About Women Artists Today
We are not looking for a single idea of femininity.
We are not looking for works that simply “look feminine”.
We are looking for complexity, strength, fragility, intelligence, contradiction, beauty, conflict, freedom, memory, body, technology, matter, vision and artistic necessity.
We want to see what women artists are building now.
Not what the art system expects them to say.
Not what a theme forces them to illustrate.
But what their work is already asking, revealing and transforming.
This book will be a space for artistic presence, professional recognition and contemporary research.
