An independent curatorial ecosystem for contemporary art
NNC Gallery London Project is an independent international art and photography platform founded in 2017.
We work with emerging and mid-career artists through research, selection, editorial production, digital exhibitions and long-term observation.
NNC Gallery was created to offer an alternative to the traditional art system: a professional and accessible space where artistic practices can be discovered, documented and supported beyond short-term visibility or established names.
We do not simply collect artists.
We build a curated ecosystem around artistic research, professional growth and meaningful connections.

Some artists remain connected to NNC Gallery for several years. Others participate in a specific publication, selection or exhibition.
This is part of our curatorial approach. We observe the development of artists over time, considering the coherence, evolution, commitment and potential of their practices.
A different approach to visibility
NNC Gallery does not promise instant success, automatic representation or guaranteed exposure.
Our aim is to create a serious and transparent context in which artists can be selected, published, presented and introduced to a wider professional network.

The NNC Challenge
The NNC Challenge is not a competition, but the first step towards entering the NNC Gallery curatorial ecosystem.

The NNC Challenge is our structured curatorial selection process.
It is not simply a competition. It is a tool for discovering, reviewing and observing artists whose work may become part of the NNC Gallery ecosystem.
The process develops through different stages:
Monthly Selection
Artists submit their work to the current monthly selection. Our curatorial team reviews the applications and identifies practices that demonstrate artistic identity, visual strength, research, coherence and professional commitment.
Monthly Challenge Winners
A limited number of artists may be selected as Monthly Challenge Winners.
They receive dedicated editorial visibility and become eligible for the annual selection process.
Annual Challenge
The Annual Challenge brings together selected artists from the monthly cycle. The final selection is made by the NNC Gallery curatorial board.

NNC Gallery Collective
The NNC Gallery Collectives are the annual groups of artists selected through the NNC Challenge.
At the end of each annual cycle, all artists chosen as Annual Winners automatically become members of that year’s NNC Gallery Collective.
The NNC Gallery Collectives
The Collectives are designed to support emerging and mid-career artists through a structured environment based on research, editorial visibility, professional dialogue and long-term observation.
Members of an NNC Gallery Collective may be:

published in the NNC Gallery international art magazine;

presented through a dedicated artist profile page;

included in catalogues and curated editorial projects;

featured across NNC Gallery’s communication channels;

involved in virtual exhibitions and selected curatorial initiatives;

followed and observed through an ongoing curatorial process;
-
introduced, when appropriate, to collectors, curators, galleries, art advisors and other cultural professionals.
Being part of an annual Collective does not guarantee sales, exhibitions, permanent commercial representation or specific professional opportunities.
It means becoming part of a recognised group of artists selected by NNC Gallery during a defined annual cycle, with the possibility of continuing within the project’s wider curatorial and editorial ecosystem.

NNC Gallery connects different areas of the contemporary art world.
For artists, we offer a structured context for publication, documentation, visibility and professional positioning.
For curators and galleries, we provide access to artists who have entered a documented process of selection and observation.
For collectors and art advisors, we present emerging and mid-career artists through curated and editorial frameworks that support informed discovery.
For institutions, fairs and cultural partners, we develop publications, digital exhibitions, experimental formats and international collaborations connected to contemporary artistic research.
Publications and editorial projects
Selection by NNC Gallery may lead to publication in our magazines, catalogues, interviews, artist profiles, virtual exhibitions or other editorial projects.
Our publications are intended to create a professional record of artistic research and curatorial recognition.
Digital editions are made available online. Printed magazines and catalogues may be distributed or presented in selected professional contexts, including exhibitions, art fairs and international networking activities.
Publication timelines follow the editorial planning of each project. Artists are presented according to the structure, rhythm and curatorial priorities of the publication or initiative.
Fees and transparency
The initial pre-selection is free.
If an artist is invited to continue to the formal Challenge stage, a one-time participation or administrative fee may apply. This contributes to the curatorial review, editorial production, communication and organisational work connected to the process.
Artists are informed clearly about any fee before making a commitment.
Once an artist is invited into the NNC Gallery Collective, there are no mandatory recurring fees for participation within the Collective framework.
Additional publications, printed editions, exhibitions, special projects or external initiatives may involve separate costs. These are always communicated in advance.
NNC Gallery does not operate as a vanity gallery and does not guarantee publication, exhibition, sales or representation as an automatic outcome of participation.
Sales and professional connections
NNC Gallery is not a traditional commercial marketplace.
When appropriate, we may support professional introductions, curated sales initiatives or connections between artists, collectors, galleries and art advisors.
Any commercial opportunity facilitated by NNC Gallery is managed through clear agreements, transparent commissions and appropriate documentation.
Artists retain ownership and control of their work unless a separate written agreement establishes otherwise.
Privacy and professional responsibility
We are committed to working with clarity, respect and professional responsibility.
Our policies are designed to protect artists’ rights, explain the selection process and ensure that participation, publication and communication are managed carefully.
We believe that a healthy art ecosystem must be based on trust, transparency and mutual respect.
Why “No Name”?
The name No Name Collective reflects the original spirit of the project.
It refers to a desire to move attention away from celebrity, hierarchy and spectacle, and towards artistic research, collective growth and long-term value.
“No Name” does not mean that artists are anonymous or without identity.
It means that artistic value should not depend exclusively on fame, status or existing networks.

Project identity
NNC Gallery is an artistic and curatorial project that combines research, communication, editorial production and experimentation.
The project may use different names, voices and project-based roles in order to explore varied curatorial perspectives and forms of cultural communication.
These roles function as research and working tools within one shared vision.
The curatorial direction of NNC Gallery remains unified, coherent and professionally managed.
The NNC Team
Valentine H. Hyman
Relational and Inclusive Curator
Based between London and the United States, Valentine focuses on contemporary African art and the cultural narratives of the African diaspora. Her interests include identity, memory and belonging across continents. She develops networks that support underrepresented communities and connect emerging artists with international opportunities.
In 2017, Valentine was one of the creative minds involved in selecting the first artists for No Name’s early projects. Since then, she has remained an important figure in the development of the collective’s identity and curatorial vision.
Céline Flamboyant
Digital and Metaverse Curator
Born in Switzerland and based between Italy, Switzerland and Amsterdam, Céline explores the future of art in virtual and hybrid spaces.
Her research focuses on artificial intelligence, the metaverse and their implications for the international art world.
Through digital projects, immersive exhibitions and experimental installations, she investigates new relationships between artists, curators, collectors and audiences.
Vittoria Communs
Art Advisor and Publishing Expert
An Italian-German professional with extensive experience in art publishing and advising, Vittoria has worked across art fairs, magazines and independent cultural projects.
Her work connects the historical value of printed culture with the evolving landscape of contemporary communication.
She writes the Emerging Artists Advice column for NNC Gallery, offering practical insights to artists navigating the contemporary art ecosystem.
Vanessa Rusci
Curator and Strategic Vision
Vanessa Rusci contributes to NNC Gallery’s international projects through hybrid exhibitions, experimental curatorial practices and new models of cultural communication.
Her approach combines digital innovation with a deep understanding of contemporary art networks.
Her work operates at the intersection of physical and virtual spaces, artistic research, communication and cultural strategy.
Victoria
Editorial Lead
Victoria is a Swiss editor with a precise and rigorous approach to publishing.
She oversees the NNC Gallery magazines and contributes to the editorial quality, organisation and coherence of our publications.
After a temporary step back from the collective, she returned to No Name in 2025 with renewed focus and expertise in art publishing.
Arthur
Institutional Partner and Media Manager
Arthur provides strategic and financial support to the long-term development of NNC Gallery and its international collaborations.
He contributes to the stability and sustainability of the project’s editorial and exhibition initiatives.
He also supports direct communication with artists and maintains relationships across the project’s international network.
Violet
Artist Manager and Communication Assistant
Violet is one of the first points of contact for artists, partners and collaborators.
She supports email correspondence, communication channels and the development of artist relations.
Her role is essential in maintaining a clear and professional dialogue between the NNC Gallery team and the artists connected to the project.
