The second step allows our curatorial team to dedicate time, evaluation, and professional resources to your work within a structured and selective process. It is at this stage that artists are formally included in the monthly curatorial evaluation and may be considered for the Annual Challenge, according to relevance, coherence, and research quality.
Artists admitted to the second step may be involved in:
 • curated virtual exhibitions
 • editorial projects, including digital and print publications
 • curated interviews and editorial features
 • professional visibility developed through our editorial and communication channels, in line with curatorial planning
These activities are not automatic and are developed according to project relevance and editorial strategy.
The fee requested at this stage is a one-time contribution, dedicated exclusively to curatorial evaluation and administrative processing related to the Challenge.
Artists selected through the Annual Challenge are not required to pay additional fees to continue within the project or the curatorial path, as outlined in our Policy.
 Participation in optional calls or separate initiatives remains a voluntary choice.
The second step is designed for artists who wish to engage in a serious, transparent, and long-term curatorial process, rather than short-term promotional exposure.

Why do I need to send different images from the first application?

Because we want to collaborate with artists who are serious and professional about their practice. Seeing a wider selection of your works allows us to better understand your artistic research and choose the most suitable pieces to promote.
It also helps us feature more variety on our channels, giving your work greater visibility across our exhibitions, magazines, and online platforms.

Why do I need to upload my Bio and Artist Statement again?

Accepted Answer

We work with different offices and separate databases, and to protect your privacy we do not transfer personal documents between them.
Since you have been selected for the next step, this is also an opportunity to send us a more detailed and refined presentation of your work. Our curators value professionalism and accuracy, and often the first application is sent in a hurry or with minimal details.
If there are no updates and your previous documents were already complete and well-prepared, you can simply resend the same ones. However, we strongly encourage you to carefully review and polish your materials to make your candidacy stand out.

What is the ID or Personal Fiscal Code (ONLY FOR EUROPEAN CITIZENS)?

Accepted Answer

For European citizens, we are legally required to collect a fiscal identification code (similar to a Social Security Number) to issue correct invoices.
Here are some examples by country:

 • Spain: Código de Identificación Fiscal
 • Sweden: Personlig Skattekod
 • Portugal: Código de Imposto Pessoal

Because experience has taught us that nothing truly valuable is ever completely free. This small fee serves several purposes:
 • It shows us that you are serious about your artistic journey and genuinely interested in joining our project. Sadly, over the years, we’ve seen that many who joined for free were neither committed nor grateful for the opportunity.
 • It allows us to support less fortunate artists, creating a more inclusive and sustainable community.
 • It helps us remain an independent collective, free from commercial pressures and external sponsors that could compromise our vision.
We are not a profit-driven organization. This contribution is simply a way to keep the project ethical, fair, and focused on real artists who value the visibility and opportunities we provide.
If you feel aligned with this philosophy, we’d love to have you with us.
 If not, we completely understand—our project isn’t for everyone.

What is the Artist Support Fund?

We believe that every artist deserves the chance to be seen, regardless of financial circumstances.
For artists from developing countries or those who have faced serious economic hardship due to personal situations, we have created the Artist Support Fund.
This fund allows selected artists to participate for free, ensuring that talent and creativity are never excluded for financial reasons.
If you believe you qualify, simply let us know during your application—we’ll evaluate your request with the utmost discretion and care..

We only have 5 dues per month, so please don't apply for the fund if you don't need it.

How and when can I apply for the Artist Support Fund?
You can request access to the Artist Support Fund only after qualifying for the second round of the Challenge.
When you receive the email confirming your selection, simply reply to it and request to participate in the Fund.
Please note:
 • We can only grant 5 funded spots per month, so we kindly ask you to apply only if you truly need this support, leaving space for artists in real financial difficulty.
This fund exists to ensure that no true talent is left behind because of financial barriers, helping us keep the project inclusive and accessible to all.

If I apply for the Artist Support Fund, am I guaranteed a place in the Challenge final?

Accepted Answer

No. Requesting the Fund does not automatically guarantee participation.
After you apply, we will carefully review your request and send you a confirmation only if your application is approved.
Please remember that we can grant only 5 funded spots per month, so availability is limited.
We evaluate each request with fairness and discretion, prioritizing artists who are in genuine financial need.

What is the difference between pre-qualification and the monthly selection?

Accepted Answer

• Pre-qualification means your work has been approved to move on to the second step of the Challenge, where you can compete in the Monthly Challenge.
 • Monthly selection means you have been chosen as one of the winners of the Monthly Challenge, which allows you to participate in the Final Annual Challenge.
👉 Important: You do not pay any additional fees for the Final Annual Challenge.
 The only fee required is for the Challenge itself when you move to the second step.
In short:
Pre-qualification → Monthly Challenge → Monthly Winner → Annual Final (no extra fee).

Once I have won the Monthly Challenge, what happens next?

• Your work will be published in our magazine, with two full pages dedicated to your art.
 • You will automatically qualify for the Final Annual Challenge, which takes place between December and January.
 • In the Final Challenge, your work will be evaluated and voted on by both an online audience and our curatorial jury.
Winning the Monthly Challenge means you gain visibility, publication, and a direct path to the annual final without any additional fees.

Question 12

Do you sell artworks?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We collaborate with trusted partners, curators, and art advisors to facilitate the sale of selected artworks.
Starting in 2025, we will also manage sales directly with formal contracts, proper invoicing, and a transparent commission structure for our role as intermediaries.
This opportunity is reserved for artists who are selected to join the Annual Collective, following their victory in the Final Challenge. All terms and details will be communicated clearly before any agreement is made.

Our magazine is distributed worldwide, except in countries where our partners cannot operate due to local restrictions.

No. We do not print or distribute the magazine directly, and therefore we cannot provide free copies to participating artists.
However, you can purchase the magazine at any time through our official distribution partners, both in print and digital formats.
This choice allows us to keep the project sustainable and independent, avoiding unnecessary production costs and focusing our resources on promoting artists and creating visibility opportunities rather than on logistics.

Do I remain the owner of the artworks I send you?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you always retain full ownership and rights to your artworks.
By submitting your work, you simply grant us permission to feature it on our social media channels, in our catalogs, magazines, and on our website for promotional purposes.
You can request the removal of your works from our archive at any time, and the cancellation will be completed within 20 days of your request.
Your art remains yours, always.

Can I contest the layout or presentation of my works in the magazine?

Accepted Answer

No. The editorial team has full discretion over the layout and presentation of all published materials.
This may include, for example:
 • selecting full images or details of your work
 • adding captions, texts, or graphic elements
 • adapting the layout to ensure editorial coherence, clarity, and readability
All editorial decisions are made by the NNC editorial team, in line with the curatorial concept, editorial standards, and overall structure of the publication.
Our team has extensive experience in art publishing and curatorial practice and works with the objective of presenting each artist’s work in a clear, respectful, and professionally contextualized manner for readers, curators, collectors, and professionals.
Editorial choices are made to serve the quality and coherence of the magazine as a whole and cannot be modified upon request.
