Denys Golden
2023
Denys Golden, born in 1973 in Kyiv, Ukraine, and currently based in Canada, is a visual artist who has explored various creative disciplines: from visual arts and architecture to graphic design. After studying Fine Arts and four years of Architecture, he continued his expressive journey in Toronto, where he developed a personal language characterized by geometries, dynamic lines, and bold colors. His abstract works, though structurally grounded, convey energy and movement, reflecting the pace and contradictions of contemporary urban life.
With a recognizable and coherent style, Denys Golden merges architectural precision with painterly vitality in a body of work that conveys movement, rhythm, and depth. His abstract canvases, traversed by sharp lines and saturated colors, suggest mental landscapes and imaginary urban maps. In them, one finds a rare balance between order and creative impulse, structure and vibration. Golden does not seek representation but resonance: his works are never closed, but open to interpretation, emotion, and the viewer’s experience.
Why NNC Gallery Selected Denys Golden:
For his ability to translate the tensions of contemporary life into accessible and universal abstract forms. His artworks speak with immediacy and depth and reflect a consistent exploration between design, art, and urban perception.
Statement
Denys Golden's work is rooted in abstraction as a means to reflect modern life. His geometric compositions are influenced by his architectural background and embody a balance between structure and expressive freedom. Inspired by Canadian nature and metropolitan life, Golden transforms canvases and panels into vibrant surfaces capable of evoking dynamism and transformation. His works converse with contemporary interior design but, above all, become emotional mirrors for the viewer: each person finds something unique within them, affirming that art truly lives only when it is experienced.
Project
"Canadian nature and modern city life give me inspiration to paint new works. I paint my pieces using
acrylic paints on stretched canvases or wood panels.
My art paintings are made of geometric shapes, lines and bold colours. They fit well with today's trends in
interior design. My goal is to bring more colour and life in today's busy and complicated world."
