Clari Netzer

Winner Challenge

2023

Clari Netzer was born in Monterrey, Mexico, in 1961.
Growing up in Mexico, she developed an early fascination with the visual heritage of ancient Mexican cultures, folklore and Mexican art history. Colour, symbolism and the coexistence of different cultural languages would later become fundamental elements of her artistic practice.
After graduating with a B.A. in Communication Sciences, Netzer moved to Israel in 1983. Following a professional career outside the arts, she eventually left management to devote herself fully to artistic practice.

Since 2007, her work has been exhibited internationally and has entered private and public collections. Her career includes exhibitions and projects across Europe, the United States and the Middle East, alongside publications, international art fairs and cultural initiatives.
Netzer has also initiated and coordinated artistic projects in collaboration with international cultural institutions, developing an ongoing interest in intercultural dialogue and the visibility of women within contemporary art.
In April 2023, Clari Netzer won the NNC Gallery Challenge, becoming part of NNC Collective 23.
Since her selection, NNC Gallery has continued to follow the development of her artistic practice. During these three years, her visual language has evolved towards an increasingly structured investigation of geometry, colour, relationships and spatial balance.
Her recent exhibition activity includes projects in Tel Aviv, Carmiel, Madrid and Barcelona, including the Barcelona International Art Fair, Woman's Essence Show, Emotions at Van Gogh Art Gallery in Madrid, Touching the Light and Formation at Artists House Carmiel, and Imagination 2026.
In 2024, she received the Woman's Essence Award from Musa International Art Space, Italy.
Alongside her studio practice, Netzer is a certified Art Life Coach and conducts creative workshops, particularly for women, exploring art as a means of expression, reflection and personal development.
Clari Netzer currently lives and works in Carmiel, Israel.

Statement

Feminine Geometry
“My process is a dialogue between geometry as voice and colors as emotion.” — Clari Netzer
Clari Netzer's practice is rooted in abstraction as a language of autonomy, intuition and identity.
Her work investigates relationships between apparently opposing forces: order and spontaneity, geometry and emotion, individuality and connection, structure and freedom.
Over the last three years, this research has evolved towards an increasingly defined geometric language.
Through intersecting lines, bold forms and layered fields of colour, Netzer constructs compositions in which different elements coexist without losing their individuality.
Geometry provides structure without becoming rigid.
Colour introduces emotion, movement and psychological resonance.
Some forms emerge from the accidental meeting of lines and spaces; others follow deliberate systems of repetition and construction. Folded corners, waves, intersections and recurring X-shaped forms create a visual vocabulary suspended between control and intuition.
Netzer describes this developing language as Feminine Geometry: a visual territory in which strength can coexist with sensitivity, structure with intuition, and confidence with introspection.
The spaces between forms become as important as the forms themselves.
Rather than imposing a predetermined narrative, Netzer creates visual relationships and leaves their ultimate interpretation to the viewer.

New Project

FEMININE GEOMETRY — BETWEEN ORDER AND FREEDOM
Clari Netzer's recent work represents a significant development within an artistic practice that has investigated duality for many years.
Following her selection as Winner of the NNC Gallery Challenge in April 2023, her research has increasingly focused on geometry as a means of exploring relationships between individual elements.
Her earlier investigation into chance and rule, chaos and order, colour and structure has progressively evolved into compositions in which geometry provides an architecture capable of containing complexity without eliminating it.
Colour remains fundamental.
Rooted partly in Netzer's Mexican visual and cultural background, colour operates as an emotional and psychological field. Geometry, by contrast, provides rhythm, direction and structure.
The relationship between these two elements generates the central tension of the work.
Geometry becomes voice. Colour becomes emotion.
Netzer's compositions investigate how separate forms can share a common space while retaining their individual identities.
Lines intersect.
Shapes establish boundaries.
Colour fields approach, overlap or respond to one another.
Order is established and then interrupted.
The resulting paintings exist between geometric abstraction and intuitive construction.
Netzer's concept of Feminine Geometry expands this research further, proposing geometry not simply as a rational system but as a flexible visual language capable of expressing strength, sensitivity, complexity and connection.

Why Invest in...

Clari Netzer is particularly interesting for collectors looking for artists whose work combines a recognisable visual language with a sustained conceptual investigation.

Her practice has developed consistently over many years around a clearly identifiable core: duality, colour, cultural identity and the search for equilibrium. This continuity gives coherence to individual works while allowing the language to evolve across different series and periods.

Her biography also gives the work a distinctive cultural position. Born in Mexico to a family marked by European Jewish history and later establishing her life and practice in Israel, Netzer operates between different geographical and cultural narratives. These experiences are not treated illustratively; they become embedded in the structure, symbolism and chromatic energy of her abstraction.

For a collector, this means acquiring work that can function immediately through colour and composition while revealing deeper conceptual layers over time.

Her career provides an additional element of interest. Netzer has exhibited internationally since 2007, participated in individual and collective exhibitions, received international distinctions and appeared in contemporary art publications and catalogues.

Rather than being defined by a single moment of visibility, her trajectory demonstrates continuity and long-term commitment to artistic production.

For new collectors in particular, Netzer represents an opportunity to approach contemporary abstraction through an artist whose work combines visual accessibility, cultural complexity, personal history and an established artistic trajectory.

As with every artwork, collecting should primarily begin with a genuine connection to the work; future market value can never be guaranteed.
