Winner Challenge 2021
Gabriele Gentile was born in 1986 in Italy, where he completed his studies in the humanities fields.
Time is the focus of his photographic research, the nostalgic time of the past from which to resurrect
ancient buildings in decay, and the time of the future, projected into minimal visions of modern
architecture with abstract colors.
Forms, lines, space. Fundamental, even as empty space.
In addition to this, colour. Colour not as an adjective but a subject, feeling and essential element of his
photographic alphabet.
Photography as a mirror of one's inner world; as aesthetic beauty, with rules and exceptions.
Deconstruct, rebuild, invent, dream.
The photographic project "Fluomostri" (Fluomonsters) was born for fun, taking pictures of modern
buildings in my city. By doing that, a new enlightening idea is born: combining these futuristic forms with
abstract skies, whose colours recall the satured and bright hues of the rainbow.
This is how these structures, in some cases labelled as a high expression of contemporary architecture in
other cases, even as monsters disfiguring the environment, blend with environment itself in a new
perspective, based on the harmony of lines, colours and visions, and become “fluomonsters”.

Fluomonsters
Deconstruct, rebuild, invent, dream.
The photographic project "Fluomonsters" was born for fun, starting to photograph
